SOS164: Back in the Day

This week's theme at Shopping our Stash is Back in the Day, and we'd like everyone to use an old-school tool or an old-time image. Since I purged all my plastic cutting templates and old fashioned eyelet setter I had to use the second option.

I used an old steam engine image from SU Traveler set.  Embossed it with copper EP and layered it on Faux Patina background panel. if you never tried this technique, here is the video tutorial I followed: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pYJZzMmPyjo

SOS159 - Open Seas in Red & White

Happy Tuesday, and welcome to a new challenge at Shopping Our Stash.  This week's theme is Wooden Ships, and we'd like you to use wood or wood veneer on your card, OR you can use a sailing/boating theme, OR you can combine them.
Since I couldn't find anything wooden in my stash I went with the sailing:

I used The Open Sea stamp set and some of the new Typeset specialty paper

2014-15 Annual Catalog Shares

Do you want all of the great new papers in the 2014-15 Catalog but can’t afford everything?  Let’s do a share!

Watercolored Bloom

I took an online class called Watercoloring for Card Makers where I learned about faux hand painting.. and here is my first attempt:

since it's FAUX hand painting I used a stamp - from the new catalogue coming out TOMORROW!!!
I colored it water based inks and water brush on watercolor paper. The leaves were painted freehand.
Sentiment is from the same set as the flower - Bloom with Hope (one of the new hostess sets)

SOS152 - Birthday Bloom

Good Morning! It's Tuesday and that means a new challenge at Shopping Our Stash. It's our 3rd anniversary this week, so the challenge is to make a Birthday or Anniversary card. Easy, right?
I used my very new SU sneak-peak purchases to create this card:

The flower was colored with my new Blendabilities and the CS and ribbon are from the new in-colors too. The only old thing is the dotted background paper :)

I was inspired by the clock and the colors and here is what I made:

I used a retiring SU set called Clockworks.
